National deputy and La Cámpora leader Máximo Kirchner headed an event at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the UBA on Saturday, sending a message to Peronism. "I am convinced that we can really design and create a space that generates hope and trust again," he said. Kirchner stated that he speaks to 100% of society, avoiding the depersonalization and depoliticization of the space. He once again called for the release of former President Cristina Kirchner: "What we want is not only Cristina's freedom, we want the freedom of our people." He argued that the situation of the former president is part of a broader scheme of political and economic discipline. "What we face and what lies ahead is enormous, powerful, and guarantees its own impunity," he emphasized, pointing to judicial cases such as Lago Escondido, the audios, and the notebooks. Máximo Kirchner also vindicated the economic management of the Kirchnerist governments: "An ex-president, eight years, of a growing, booming economy: there has been no period in Argentina from 2000 to the present where as many companies were created as during the government of Néstor and the two governments of Cristina." He compared the proscription to scenes from the movie "Braveheart," stating that Cristina's figure remains a decisive political weight: "She may have more or fewer votes, but what is Cristina walking... is a call to discussion, debate, and participation." Additionally, Kirchner returned to the judicial situation of the former president by remarking that his meeting with economists was used to justify restrictions: "Why is she a nuisance? Can you imagine they would run the same risk again by letting her walk free?" "I have many adjectives for the right, but one I don't have is 'foolish.' Do you know what often ends up happening? They know what they are doing, that is why they killed, tortured, made disappear, persecuted, and indebted," recalled the Fuerza Patria leader.
